Jeet Kune Do, developed by Bruce Lee himself, is an extremely beneficial martial arts practice that uses mind, body and spirit to promote overall wellness. Our Long Island staff has many years of experience in the art of JKD, and are eager to pass that knowledge along to their students.

Our academy opened in 1985 and was the first school in the tri-state area to teach Jeet Kune Do. In that time, we have taught over 10,000 students the art and science of JKD. No matter if you’re a beginner or an expert looking for a new place to practice, NYMAA offers adult classes, children’s programs, corporate and one-on-one personal training. While self-defense and fitness are the primary reasons our students begin training, they stay because the skills they learn drip into their daily lives. On average, our students see an increase in strength, flexibility and endurance within two months!

Our Long Island Martial Arts dojo has a very successful children’s program. It is important to teach our students the values of self-discipline, inner strength, mental focus and self-confidence at a young age, to set them up for success in all endeavors of life as they mature into adults. Our studio is a great place for children to make new friends, become empowered and apply self-discipline and focus into school, relationships and extracurriculars.

Adult Jeet Kune Do programs at our Long Island studio are available for the most beginner of students, as well as for the more experienced students wishing to hone in on their JKD techniques. Our experienced staff has seen every type and level of learner and can accommodate everyone.
