Colin Kane, O.D., F.A.A.O., is an optometrist within the Division of Neuro-Ophthalmology, and sees patients at the Wilmer Eye Institute's locations in Baltimore and Columbia, Maryland. Dr. Kane's practice is focused on neuro-ophthalmology, with emphasis on double vision result from neurological conditions and problems of the optic nerve such as ischemic optic neuropathy, optic neuritis, idiopathic intracranial hypertension and intracranial masses. He prioritizes patient education and ensuring that patients understand their condition. Dr. Kane began his career in eye care as an ophthalmic technician at Wilmer before continuing his education at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University, where he received his doctorate of optometry. As a student, he furthered his interest in the brain and the eye and received the highest recognition in neuro-ophthalmic disease during his training. Afterward, he returned to Baltimore to complete a residency in ocular disease at the Baltimore VA Medical Center, completing additional training in neuro-ophthalmic and retinal diseases.
